Get Involved by Hosting a Food Drive

Host A Food Drive

Help Support Our Community Events!

Community Storehouse welcomes residents, schools, churches, and businesses from Sumter and the surrounding areas to generously donate food throughout the year, helping us provide consistent support to families during our scheduled community events.

What is a Food Drive?

A food drive is a form of charity conducted within a specific time frame by a group of individuals or a corporation to collect food supplies and distribute them to those in our community experiencing hardship.

We encourage you and/or your organization to coordinate with Community Storehouse on food drives.

Traditional vs. Virtual

A traditional food drive is a grocery store purchase of non-perishable food items to be delivered to Community Storehouse. A virtual food drive is a fast, online way to make the same donation without leaving home or the office.

Containers

Food drive hosts are encouraged to use their own boxes if available. If you need containers, please let us know a week in advance of the food drive.

Transportation of Food

Food drive hosts are encouraged to deliver their donations to Community Storehouse.  Contact the Operations Coordinator to schedule donation drop-offs via the link below. If the number of donations is substantial to transport by car, please get in touch with us for pickup (please allow a minimum of 48 hours' notice). During the holidays (Thanksgiving & Christmas), we encourage a seven (7) day notice to make certain a pickup slot is reserved.

Shop Amazon or Walmart

Donate non-perishable food items to Community Storehouse from the comfort of your home or office by shopping on Amazon or Walmart for our community and the surrounding areas.

Have items shipped to:
