Get Involved by Hosting a Food Drive

Host A Food Drive

Help stock our shelves!

Community Storehouse welcomes Sumter and surrounding areas residents, schools, churches, and businesses to generously donate food throughout the year to keep our shelves stock for our communities.

What is a Food Drive?

A food drive is a form of charity that is conducted in a certain time frame by a group of individuals or a corporation to receive food supplies and distribute it to those in our community experiencing hardship.

We encourage you and/or your organization to work with Community Storehouse in coordinating food drives.

Traditional vs. Virtual

A traditional food drive is a grocery store purchase of non-perishable food items to be delivered to Community Storehouse. A virtual food drive is a fast, online way to make the same donation without having to leave home or office.

Containers

Food drive hosts are encouraged to use their own boxes if available. If in need of containers, please let us know a week in advance prior to hosting the food drive.

Transportation of Food

Food drive hosts are encouraged to deliver their donations to Community Storehouse.  Donations are accepted Saturday 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. If the amount of donations is substantial to transport by car, please contact us for a pick-up (please permit a minimal 48-hour notice). During the holidays (Thanksgiving & Christmas), we encourage a seven (7) day notice, to make certain a pickup slot is reserved.

Shop Amazon or Walmart

Donate non-perishable food items to Community Storehouse from the comfort of your home or office by shopping Amazon or Walmart for Sumter, Bishopville, Manning, and surrounding areas.

Have items shipped to: Community Storehouse

P.O. Box 543

Sumter, SC 29151
